Our story
A lamp for the next step.
MyLumenOS began at Aunty Ana's House, a family day care in West Oʻahu. Like most providers, we got into child care for the children — not the paperwork. But the paperwork kept growing: enrollment packets, tuition reminders, sign-in sheets, handbook updates, subsidy reports.
So we built the system we wished we had — one place, clean and clear, simple enough for people who love kids, not admin.
The name
Why MyLumenOS?
Lumen is Latin for light. OS is the operating system your program runs on. And My — because it's yours.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
That's what we want MyLumenOS to be for every provider — not a maze of screens, but a clear light on the next step.
The symbol
Why a lighthouse?
We first thought of a nest, but a nest is messy. Providers need the opposite: order from chaos — calm, clarity and confidence. A lighthouse doesn't do the sailing for you. It shows you the way home.
The founder
Kearn Oishi
Kearn Oishi was born and raised in Nānākuli. He served in the U.S. Army, spent 25+ years in operations — from semiconductor fabs to financial services — then came home to help local people thrive, not just survive. Today he co-owns Aunty Ana's House and built MyLumenOS so other providers can spend less time on paperwork and more time with children.
